SORRENTO
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
From big luxury resorts to boutique hotels, Sorrento appeals to all. It's much bigger than the other towns along the Amalfi Coast & close to Naples. This makes it an ideal location to base yourself especially if you're short on time & prefer to just take day trips to Capri & Positano. Sorrento itself is beautiful & offers some amazing views, shops, bars & restaurants.
SHOPPING
It's hard to keep your inner shopaholic under wraps while in Sorrento! One of Italy's most famous coastal resort towns, Sorrento is full of great artisan & souvenir shops. You'll also find some amazing Italian fashion shops too.
PIAZZA TASSO
Piazza Tasso is the main hub of activity in Sorrento. You’ve got leisurely locals milling around, visitors with their cameras out, horse-drawn carriages picking up & dropping off tourists, & a string of cafes & restaurants housed in grand sunshine yellow buildings. Stop for an espresso in the sun, or swing by later for an aperitif & watch the world go by.
LIMONCELLO
It's everywhere & it's delicious. Sorrento is known as the production hub of delicious Limoncello, the Italian digestif made with lemon rinds, water, sugar &, of course, alcohol.
ROAM THE STREETS
There is much to do among the sun-drenched piazzas, breathtaking hotels & winding streets in the Old Town that ooze with charm & make Sorrento such a wonderful destination.
SUNSET DRINKS
Head to Terrazza Vittoria at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria. Here you'll find a superb bar & restaurant set on Sorrento’s most iconic terrace, facing the sea and Mount Vesuvius. It is the perfect place to watch the sunset & if you're lucky, experience some live music. Be sure to reserve a table as it is a very popular spot. This was our favourite bar in Sorrento.
